徐揚(yáng)生,1958年4月7日出生于浙江紹興,空間機(jī)器人與智能控制專家,中國工程院院士、中國人工智能學(xué)會(huì)首批會(huì)士,香港中文大學(xué)自動(dòng)化與計(jì)算機(jī)輔助工程學(xué)講座教授。 [1-2] 
1982年和1984年分別取得浙江大學(xué)學(xué)士及碩士學(xué)位,并于1989年獲美國賓夕法尼亞大學(xué)博士學(xué)位。1989年至1997年間,任美國卡內(nèi)基梅隆大學(xué)計(jì)算機(jī)學(xué)院機(jī)器人研究所研究員。1997年起任教于香港中文大學(xué),擔(dān)任機(jī)械與自動(dòng)化工程學(xué)系系主任至2004年,2011年開始擔(dān)任香港中文大學(xué)副校長,現(xiàn)兼任中國科學(xué)院深圳先進(jìn)技術(shù)研究院副院長。 [3] 
2013年7月獲聘為香港中文大學(xué)(深圳)首任校長,任期4年。
2017年7月,獲得香港中文大學(xué)(深圳)理事會(huì)續(xù)聘,任期至2021年。 [4]

1989年,獲得美國賓夕法尼亞大學(xué)博士學(xué)位。
1989年至1997年,擔(dān)任美國卡耐基梅隆大學(xué)計(jì)算機(jī)學(xué)院機(jī)器人研究所研究員,領(lǐng)域?yàn)榭臻g機(jī)器人研究。
1997年,赴香港香港中文大學(xué)任教。

徐揚(yáng)生院士 徐揚(yáng)生院士
徐揚(yáng)生長期從事機(jī)器人與智能控制系統(tǒng)研究,在空間機(jī)器人的設(shè)計(jì)、控制及動(dòng)力學(xué)研究,以及無重力地面試驗(yàn)設(shè)施的研制等方面作出了重要貢獻(xiàn)。他致力于推動(dòng)我國航天智能控制技術(shù)的發(fā)展,提出并參與了有關(guān)航天智能系統(tǒng)的研制。同時(shí),他對動(dòng)態(tài)穩(wěn)定系統(tǒng)的控制、人類控制策略的自動(dòng)建模、穿戴式智能人機(jī)界面、以及全方位混合動(dòng)力汽車等進(jìn)行了深入研究和系統(tǒng)開發(fā)。發(fā)表論文270多篇、專著3部、編著1部。 [6]

徐揚(yáng)生人物故事

徐揚(yáng)生出生于上世紀(jì)50年代浙江紹興的一個(gè)書香家庭。高中畢業(yè)后,經(jīng)歷了兩年的知青生活。1977年恢復(fù)高考,被浙江大學(xué)錄取。7年后,到美國留學(xué),獲得賓夕法尼亞大學(xué)博士學(xué)位。隨后在卡內(nèi)基梅隆大學(xué)任教并從事機(jī)器人研究,事業(yè)如日中天 [7]  。
經(jīng)歷過改革開放、香港回歸、海外求學(xué)、香港治學(xué)的徐揚(yáng)生具有濃厚的家國情懷和對大學(xué)教育的反思,立志在中國本土辦一所世界一流的大學(xué)。在徐揚(yáng)生的動(dòng)員和努力下,2014年香港中文大學(xué)(深圳)正式設(shè)立。 [8]
